[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Yuri] Wei Lu, a Chinese restaurant located on the 34th floor of the Grand Intercontinental Seoul Parnas, announced on the 21st that it will offer a summer special course menu featuring Chinese cold noodles to mark the arrival of the summer solstice until the end of August. The course menu includes Chinese cold noodles, Singapore chili sauce pen shell and scallop appetizers, dim sum, fried ribs, and dessert.
The Chinese cold noodles presented by Wei Lu are topped with seafood such as sea cucumber, shrimp, scallops, and jellyfish, which are good for revitalization, along with beef shank and Machilus thunbergii shoots, and served chilled with noodles using frozen chicken broth. The Machilus thunbergii shoots, known as an ingredient that boosts immunity, are salted and added, and instead of the commonly served peanut sauce, a sesame sauce that can be mixed with the Chinese cold noodles is provided for differentiation.
Wei Lu’s signature fried ribs are also included in the course menu. The fried ribs require time and care, starting with soaking pork ribs in water for a day to remove blood, then marinating them in a special sauce for 12 hours. The marinated pork ribs are steamed for about 30 minutes and then fried just before serving to customers. The ribs offer a rich and tender flavor even without any additional sauce.
Meanwhile, a premium tea pairing service that selects and serves teas matching the menu is also available. In addition to the basic jasmine tea provided, customers can choose from premium teas, and the tea can be customized to pair well with the ordered menu. For this summer special course menu, Yunnan Gaosubai tea, known for its heat-reducing effects, and Changnyeong wild red tea, characterized by a clean aftertaste and refreshing aroma, are recommended pairings.
