LS ELECTRIC Launches High-Performance Inverter New Product... Aiming for 50% Automation MS Within 5 Years
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyewon] LS ELECTRIC has unveiled a new high-performance inverter, a core component of smart factory automation equipment, and is expanding its business.
On the 18th, LS ELECTRIC announced the first unveiling of its strategic new product for targeting the next-generation inverter market, the 'G100 (General 100) series,' and plans to achieve a 50% share of the domestic inverter market within the next five years.
An inverter is a device that optimizes the voltage and frequency of externally supplied electricity and delivers it to an electric motor, enabling easy and highly efficient control of motor speed. It is a key component used in various automation equipment such as blowers, pumps, machine tools, and textile machines, contributing to energy savings and quality improvement.
The LS ELECTRIC G100 series was developed as a universal product to expand the inverter market. It is designed to maximize user convenience by tuning according to the characteristics of each industry or by a compact design that minimizes costs associated with securing additional space.
Additionally, it can provide high torque output across the entire operating speed range, making it easy to apply not only to fans and pumps, where inverters have been mainly used, but also to logistics systems, textile equipment, machine tools, and hoists.
The G100 was designed from the product planning stage to be assembled on LS ELECTRIC’s own smart factory automated production line in Cheonan. Through this, it achieved 100% automated production for the first time in the automation industry, increasing hourly productivity by 240% compared to existing lines and reducing assembly defect rates to nearly 0%.
Based on the advantages of a universal drive applicable to all industries and product reliability, LS ELECTRIC’s strategy is to expand its current 35% share of the domestic inverter market to 50% within five years, solidifying its overwhelming number one position.
The current domestic low-voltage inverter market size is approximately 250 billion KRW. Due to trends in carbon emission reduction driven by strengthened ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management, government smart factory dissemination, and policies for localization of materials, parts, and equipment (SoBuJang), inverter demand is expected to show rapid growth.
