Muan Fire Station Seeks Firefighting Artifacts Tracing the Footsteps of Firefighting
[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Jeonnam Muan Fire Station (Chief Park Won-guk) announced on the 16th that it is collecting fire relics for the exhibition, operation, and preservation and research of historical materials of the National Fire Museum, which is under construction with the goal of opening in 2024.
This fire relic collection and donation campaign aims to rediscover the history of firefighting in Korea by finding historical materials and relics related to firefighting and to preserve fire relics that can be collected.
Donatable relics include firefighting-related photos, documents, books, items, clothing, equipment, vehicles, and even small badges with historical significance, regardless of size or type, and anyone nationwide can participate.
Donors will receive a donation certificate and a plaque of appreciation, be invited to various important events and exhibition openings, and be given special treatment and privileges. Donated relics will be registered as museum collections for permanent preservation and used for special exhibitions, research, and educational materials.

Park Won-guk, chief of Muan Fire Station, said, “Relics are not only old or economically valuable items; even a small photo or a single document can be a precious fire relic if it contains the story of firefighting. We ask for the public’s great interest and active participation.”
