Korea Philip Morris Introduces Up to 6 Days of Vaccine Leave for All Employees
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Korea Philip Morris announced on the 16th that it has introduced a vaccine leave system for all employees.
As vaccination opportunities for employees have increased recently due to leftover vaccines, reservist and civil defense personnel vaccines, Korea Philip Morris decided to establish a vaccine leave system in accordance with government recommendations.
All employees receiving the vaccine are supported with paid leave for up to 6 days, including the day of vaccination, without deducting from annual leave. If vaccinated on a working day, one day of paid leave is basically granted. If the employee feels unwell the day after vaccination and needs rest, they can use an additional 2 days of vaccine leave without a medical certificate. The same applies for those requiring a second dose, providing up to 6 days of paid leave.
Employees who continue to experience symptoms such as fever or chills more than 3 days after vaccination can use sick leave for 3 days or more according to existing sick leave regulations. In this case, they must submit a medical certificate from a hospital stating that rest for 3 days or more is necessary.
