[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] Lotte Insurance is strengthening coverage riders for each insurance service to enhance the competitiveness of its core long-term insurance products. While expanding the surgery coverage rider to cover 140 major diseases, the largest in the industry, it is also improving the proxy claimant system to resolve inconveniences in insurance claim filing.
On the 15th, Lotte Insurance announced that it revised its insurance services 'Let:Smile Comprehensive Health Insurance (The Kkeulim Premium)' and 'Let:Play Child Insurance (Dodam Dodam)' and newly established surgery coverage for 140 specified diseases. In addition to the 64 diseases covered under the existing health insurance services, coverage is now provided for surgeries related to 76 additional diseases. For Let:Play Child Insurance (Dodam Dodam), a premium waiver rider for diagnoses of thyroid cancer, other skin cancers, and similar cancers was also added.
Lotte Insurance also introduced an in-kind benefit rider supporting housekeeping assistants in its 'Let:Drive Driver Insurance.' This allows customers injured or suffering from aftereffects due to car accidents to receive household help through their insurance.
The proxy claimant system was also improved. To prevent claim filing incapacity among dementia insurance subscribers, Lotte Insurance has made the designation of proxy claimants mandatory and expanded the number of allowable designees from one to multiple. To facilitate proxy claimant designation, qualification and document submission requirements have been relaxed, and system guidance and notification services will be strengthened.
