Shinsegae Premium Outlet Targets MZ Generation's Retro Sentiment with 'Goods Marketing'
Collaboration with LIFE ARCHIVE Unveils 'Smile Kit' Goods
Featuring Film Cameras Capturing Retro Sensibility of the MZ Generation
From the 18th to 27th, given to first customers purchasing over 400,000 KRW on the day
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Yuri] Shinsegae Simon announced on the 15th that it will launch the 'Smile Kit,' a collaboration with the urban lifestyle brand 'LIFE ARCHIVE,' for 10 days from the 18th to the 27th, marking its first 'goods marketing' campaign of the year.
Shinsegae Simon explained the goods marketing by saying, "We prepared the Smile Kit so that the exotic scenery of Shinsegae Premium Outlets can be reborn as a space where people travel their daily lives with loved ones," adding, "we want to provide customers with the joy of recording magical everyday moments through the 'Smile' captured by a film camera."
Since last year, Shinsegae Simon has been the first in the outlet industry to conduct 'goods marketing' reflecting customers' lifestyles. In November last year, it introduced 'Picnic Mat Bag Goods 2 Types' reflecting customers' untact (non-face-to-face) car camping and picnic demands, and all 4,000 prepared goods were sold out.
The 'Smile Kit' is composed of a kit containing a disposable film camera reflecting the analog and retro sensibility popular among the MZ generation. It was created in collaboration with 'LIFE ARCHIVE,' based on the 'LIFE' magazine, the pioneer of American photojournalism. 'The Smile Kit includes a disposable film camera capable of taking 27 shots and three types of masking tape used to attach printed photos to walls. The masking tapes come in black, gray, and plum red colors symbolizing Shinsegae Simon. Also included are four postcards featuring exotic real photos of Shinsegae Simon's Yeoju, Paju, Busan, and Siheung Premium Outlets.
The 'Smile Kit' goods marketing will be held simultaneously at all Shinsegae Simon Premium Outlet stores in Yeoju, Paju, Busan, and Siheung for ten days from the 18th to the 27th. It will be given to customers who purchase over 400,000 KRW on the day. The event ends early when supplies run out, and it is provided on a first-come, first-served basis, limited to one per person per day. Receipts from the same day can be combined, but some brands are excluded from the combination.
At Shinsegae Simon Premium Outlets in Yeoju, Paju, Busan, and Siheung, a themed exhibition called 'PLAY WITH PREMIUM OUTLETS,' blending culture and art, will be held simultaneously. To provide a healing cultural space for visitors tired from COVID-19, an art zone featuring works by 13 artists, including An Chi-hong's 'Dreaming Horse' and Choi Hye-kwang's 'Outing of the Chucks,' will also be showcased.
A Shinsegae Simon official said, "In June, Shinsegae Simon Premium Outlets will transform into a travel space full of culture and art," adding, "We hope customers will have a healing time by capturing happy everyday moments with a film camera as if they were visiting a travel destination."
