Lotte Food Accelerates Startup Collaboration... Launches Same-Day Delivery Service
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Lotte Food is intensifying its collaboration with startups. The first step is a meal management lunchbox delivery service through a same-day delivery startup.
On the 15th, Lotte Food announced that it has listed seven types of ‘Chefood Seven Days Plan’ meal management lunchboxes on FreshCode, a healthy food same-day delivery startup.
‘Chefood Seven Days Plan’ is Lotte Food’s meal management product lineup. It is a product that allows you to eat rice and side dishes at once, but the calories are similar to a regular bowl of rice. While a 210g bowl of rice contains about 304 kcal, the 'Chefood Seven Days Plan' is composed of 285 to 345 kcal. With seven different menu options, it is easy to maintain a consistent diet without getting bored.
The accessibility of 'Chefood Seven Days Plan' has been enhanced through its listing on the startup FreshCode. By using FreshCode’s main service, ‘Fco Spot’ delivery, orders placed before 9:30 a.m. can be received at a designated location for free on the same day’s lunch. FreshCode currently operates over 1,200 Fco Spots in Seoul and Pangyo areas. You can check the nearest Fco Spot location or open a new one through the FreshCode website. In addition, quick delivery and dawn delivery options are also available.
Lotte Food regards this collaboration as a result of Lotte Group’s startup fostering efforts, combining its product capabilities with FreshCode’s innovative distribution service. FreshCode was recognized for its growth potential in same-day delivery services utilizing offline bases such as cafes and convenience stores, and received investment from Lotte Ventures in 2018. It was also selected for the 5th class of L-CAMP, Lotte Group’s startup nurturing program.
Meanwhile, Lotte Food and Lotte Group are also conducting a food tech startup fostering project to secure future food markets. ‘Future Diet,’ led by Lotte Ventures, is a project to nurture startups with the potential to innovate the future food and beverage industry ecosystem, including future food and alternative ingredients. The first application round closed last month, and the selection process is underway.
