Mapo-gu Children's Design Workshop 'Recycling Creative Classroom' Operation
2021 Traveling Children's Design Workshop Held Online, Hands-on Activities Like Jump Rope and Eco Bag Making Using Discarded Plastics and Banners for 250 Local Elementary Students
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Mapo-gu (Mayor Yudonggyun) will operate the 2021 Visiting Children's Design Workshop 'Recycling Creative Classroom' for 250 elementary school children in the area from June 17 to September 29.
'Recycling Creative Classroom' is a program that raises awareness of the importance of design and the environment through upcycling experiences that add value such as design to waste including indiscriminately discarded plastics and banners. It has been continuously held since 2009.
It helps children develop the ability to discover interesting designs in daily life and create on their own, making it popular among parents.
The 'Recycling Creative Classroom,' which has received positive evaluations from participating children and parents every year, was suspended last year due to COVID-19, but this year it will meet children through real-time non-face-to-face methods using Zoom.
This 'Recycling Creative Classroom' includes activities such as making jump ropes with regenerated beads using discarded plastics and creating unique eco-bags by adding their own designs to used banners.
