'Marijuana Inhalation' Former BTOB Member Jung Ilhoon Appeals First Trial Prison Sentence
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyung-min] Jung Il-hoon, a former member of the idol group BTOB, who was indicted for habitual marijuana use, was sentenced to prison and detained in court, has appealed the first trial verdict.
Jung's lawyer submitted an appeal to the Seoul Central District Court Criminal Division 22 (Chief Judge Yang Cheol-han) on the 14th.
Jung was prosecuted for purchasing and smoking marijuana worth about 133 million won a total of 161 times from July 2016 to January 2019.
On the 10th, Jung was sentenced to 2 years in prison and fined about 133 million won at the sentencing hearing. Jung, who was on bail during the trial, was detained in court upon sentencing.

Seven accomplices tried alongside Jung received prison sentences ranging from 1 year and 6 months to 2 years, or 1 year in prison with 3 years probation, depending on the frequency of marijuana purchases and use.
