[AKYUNG Poll] Yoon Seok-yeol vs. Lee Jae-myung Head-to-Head, Yoon Leads Beyond Margin of Error
Yoon 48.4% Lee 41.1%
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] In a hypothetical matchup between former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol and Gyeonggi Province Governor Lee Jae-myung, former Prosecutor General Yoon showed a lead beyond the margin of error.
Asia Economy commissioned Win-G Korea Consulting to conduct a public opinion survey from the 12th to the 13th targeting 1,017 voters aged 18 and older nationwide (100% mobile phone virtual numbers, automated response). The results showed former Prosecutor General Yoon receiving 48.4% support.
In comparison, Governor Lee received 41.1%. The gap between the two candidates was 7.2 percentage points, which is outside the margin of error (±3.1%).
Compared to the survey results from the fifth week of May, former Prosecutor General Yoon's support rose by 3.3 percentage points, while Governor Lee's support fell by 0.3 percentage points, widening the gap between the candidates.
By age group, former Prosecutor General Yoon led among voters in their 20s and those aged 50 and above, while Governor Lee was ahead among voters in their 40s.
By region, former Prosecutor General Yoon led in Seoul, Chungcheong, and the Yeongnam area, while Governor Lee showed strength in the Honam region.

▶ How was the survey conducted?
This survey was conducted by Asia Economy through Win-G Korea Consulting targeting voters aged 18 and older nationwide from the 12th to the 13th, with 1,017 respondents and an overall response rate of 10.9%. The survey method was wireless ARS using 100% mobile phone virtual numbers. The sample was extracted with weighting by gender, age, and region based on the resident registration population as of the end of January 2021 from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety (cell weighting). The sampling error is ±3.1 percentage points at a 95% confidence level.
