Gwangju Bank Donates 30 Million KRW Scholarship Fund for Talent Development to Yeonggwang County
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju Bank (President Song Jongwook) announced on the 11th that it has donated 30 million KRW to the talent development scholarship fund in Yeonggwang-gun.
The donation ceremony was attended by Song Jongwook, President of Gwangju Bank, Kim Junsung, Mayor of Yeonggwang-gun, and other officials.
Since 2018, Gwangju Bank has contributed 30 million KRW annually to the Yeonggwang-gun talent development fund, striving for educational advancement and nurturing local talent.
Kim Junsung, Mayor of Yeonggwang-gun, said, "We are grateful for the annual scholarship contributions from the talent development fund," adding, "The donated scholarship will be used to nurture future talents in our county."
Song Jongwook, President of Gwangju Bank, stated, "As the representative bank of Jeonnam and Gwangju, we will take the lead in various social contribution activities to nurture local talent so that the talents who will lead the future of our region can freely grow and design their dreams."
Meanwhile, Gwangju Bank is conducting various social contribution activities to discover and nurture local talent as a practical measure pursuing values beyond profit, which is the management philosophy of President Song Jongwook.
They continuously select 'Hope Blossoms Study Rooms' (currently 63 branches) and 'Hope Blossoms Dream Trees' (currently 4 branches) to support those who can nurture their dreams even in difficult environments.
Also, through the Gwangju Bank Scholarship Foundation established in 1981, scholarships have been awarded to local students, providing a total of approximately 3.3 billion KRW in scholarships to over 4,000 local scholarship recipients to date.
