Gyeonggi-do Approves Change Plan for Yangju Eunnam General Industrial Complex

Expected to Create 5,312 Jobs and Induce Production Worth 1.099 Trillion KRW
[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] The Eunnam General Industrial Complex in Yangju City, Gyeonggi Province, is raising expectations to become a central axis for the agglomeration of the stagnated northern Gyeonggi regional industry and balanced development.
Gyeonggi Province emphasized on the 11th, "We have announced the approval of the industrial complex plan change for Yangju Eunnam General Industrial Complex (Gyeonggi Province Announcement No. 2021-5097)."
According to the approved plan, a total project cost of 350.3 billion KRW will be invested in a 992,000㎡ site in Dohari, Eunhyeon-myeon, and Sangsu-ri, Nam-myeon, Yangju City, with the goal of completing site development, parks, and green spaces by 2023.
The site area has increased by 300,000㎡ compared to the original plan, and the industries have diversified from six sectors including textile manufacturing to nine sectors including food manufacturing.
In particular, the plan focuses on attracting nine industries such as food manufacturing, medical, precision, optical instruments, and watches.
The province expects that once the industrial complex is operational, it will create approximately 5,300 jobs and induce production worth about 1.099 trillion KRW.
Yangju City also plans to accommodate 10 new promising growth industries including electronics, electrical, other machinery, and logistics.
Additionally, Logisvalley Co., Ltd., the largest integrated logistics company in Korea, is scheduled to move in with a site of 440,000㎡, and the demand for tenant companies has already reached 103% by attracting foreign automobile manufacturing companies consecutively.
Within a 5km radius, five industrial complexes are located, and it boasts locational competitiveness with a metropolitan transportation network including the Gwangjeok IC of the Seoul Metropolitan Area 2nd Ring Expressway, Local Road No. 39, GTX-C line, as well as tax benefits for tenant companies and dedicated industrial water supply according to the comprehensive development plan for areas surrounding the U.S. military concession zone.
The 'Eunnam General Industrial Complex,' promoted by Yangju City and Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Corporation through a public development method, also has the advantage of stable project execution supported by the implementing body's swift administrative procedures.

A Gyeonggi Province official said, "Through this industrial complex plan approval, we expect to bring new vitality not only to Yangju City but also to northern Gyeonggi," adding, "We hope it will contribute as a driving force for balanced development of Gyeonggi Province through corporate attraction and job creation, revitalizing the regional economy."
