Gyeongsan City Offers 'Reward' for Reporting Illegal Water Use and Water Supply Leaks
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-ho] Gyeongsan City announced on the 10th that it will actively operate a reward system from June to encourage citizens' active participation in reporting illegal water supply and water pipe leaks.
This system was introduced to complement the limitations of leak detection in water supply pipelines buried throughout the city and to promptly handle reports from citizens.
A reward of 50,000 KRW will be given to the first citizen who reports a water leak, and a reward equivalent to 5% of the fine amount will be given to citizens who report illegal water supply resulting in a fine.
The payment target is determined after the responsible official confirms the site and judges whether there is a leak or illegal water supply. In the case of leaks, leaks in indoor water supply pipes, not the water supply and distribution pipelines managed by the city, are not eligible.
