LG Uplus to Showcase 'Autonomous Parking' at Smart Mobility Expo
Participation in SSME 2021 at Culture Depot from June 10-12

[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] LG Uplus announced on the 10th that it will exhibit mobility services such as autonomous vehicles and operate an autonomous parking experience space at the ‘2021 Seoul Smart Mobility Expo (SSME 2021)’ held for three days from the 10th to the 12th at the Culture Depot in Mapo-gu, Seoul.
At this exhibition, LG Uplus plans to demonstrate core autonomous driving technologies and inform visitors about them. The event booth will be composed of ▲5G autonomous vehicles ▲autonomous parking, 5G control, dynamic maps, precise positioning, autonomous driving big data collection and analysis solutions, developed together with Hanyang University’s Automotive Electronics Control Laboratory (ACE LAB) ▲and car entertainment services (Audio Video Navigation).
At this expo, visitors can observe the autonomous parking service provided by LG Uplus’s autonomous vehicles. LG Uplus’s autonomous vehicle will run about 500 meters from the starting point within the event venue and then automatically stop at the parking lot prepared inside the exhibition booth.
Previously, LG Uplus publicly demonstrated the world’s first 5G-based autonomous driving on Gangbyeonbuk-ro and Olympic-daero, and C-ITS-based 5G autonomous cooperative driving on general roads around LG Science Park in Magok, Seoul. In December last year, it also succeeded in autonomous valet parking through a real-time parking space recognition solution and a 5G cloud control service platform in the Sangam autonomous driving pilot district.
LG Uplus is a pilot operator for autonomous driving mobility selected by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport last year, providing autonomous driving services and infrastructure in Siheung Baegot New Town as well as in the autonomous driving regulatory free zones of Sejong City and Gwangju City.
