Songpa-gu, Summer Vacation Administrative Internships for University Students Recruitment
Recruiting 60 Participants from the 9th to 16th... Opportunities to Experience Administrative Work and Propose Policies for District Governance Participation
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Songpa-gu (Mayor Park Seong-su) is recruiting '2021 Summer Vacation University Student Administrative Interns (Part-time)' from the 9th to the 16th.
The district operates administrative interns twice a year, in summer and winter, so that university students can utilize their vacation period to gain social experience and experience district administrative work.
Administrative interns are assigned to the district office, public health center, community service centers, libraries, etc., where they perform administrative support tasks, monitor key projects, and propose policies.
This summer vacation, a total of 60 people will be recruited.
Applicants must be university students or on leave of absence registered as residents in Songpa-gu as of the announcement date (June 2, 2021), or university students or on leave of absence at universities located in Songpa-gu. However, students enrolled in remote universities, computer institutes, lifelong education centers, etc., and those who participated as university student administrative interns during last summer vacation and this January's winter vacation are excluded.
Among the recruits, 12 people (20%) will be given priority selection from ▲basic livelihood security recipients and their children ▲legally designated low-income groups and their children ▲registered disabled persons ▲North Korean defectors and their children ▲national merit recipients and their children ▲families with three or more children. Additionally, 3 people (5%) will be selected from students attending universities located in Songpa-gu.
The working period is from July 2 to July 30. Work hours are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., five days a week. The work allowance is based on the '2021 Songpa-gu Living Wage,' paying 52,700 KRW per day, with a total of 1.3 million KRW for full attendance.
In particular, the district will operate various district experience programs for this year's administrative interns. These include online employment special lectures in preparation for the post-COVID era, experience activities at Songpa Saem Instrument Library & Music Creation Center, and Songpa Saem Future Education Center.
Applications can be made on the Songpa-gu website. The final selection will be made by public lottery through a computer system at 2 p.m. on June 17, and the results can be checked on the district website at 5 p.m. on the same day.

Park Seong-su, Mayor of Songpa-gu, said, "The administrative intern experience will not only be a good nourishment for university students to engage in social life in the future but also an opportunity to take more interest in Songpa." He added, "We will provide various experience opportunities for university students facing employment difficulties due to COVID-19."
