The program was prepared to offer job stress management and mental health promotion services to correctional officers experiencing exhaustion and depression in correctional facilities.
Starting with the National Chuncheon Forest Experience Center, the Forest Welfare Institute plans to conduct forest healing programs for correctional officers at National Forest Experience Centers located in Hoengseong, Chilgok, Daejeon, and Naju.
The program consists of a total of six sessions, allowing about 200 correctional officers to participate in a 2-night, 3-day schedule.
The Forest Welfare Institute plans to support participating correctional officers in overcoming stress caused by excessive complaints from inmates within correctional facilities and recovering their mental health in the forest.
