KOTRA and Korea University Hold 'G7 Youth Forum' to Enhance Young People's Overseas Employment Competencies
[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] KOTRA, in collaboration with Korea University, will hold the 'G7 Youth Forum' online on the 10th, coinciding with the G7 Summit. Through this event, it will guide over 100 Korean youths residing in Korea and the UK on global shared values and help enhance their employment capabilities.
The G7 multilateral summit will be held in the UK from the 11th to the 13th. This meeting is expected to discuss overcoming COVID-19 worldwide, future prosperity through free and fair trade, responding to climate change and preserving biodiversity, and pursuing global shared values.
The G7 Youth Forum hosted by KOTRA will also deeply address the 'ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance)' trends closely related to the summit agenda.
Kim Chang-beom, a former diplomat and advisor at the Strategic Culture Research Center, and Yoo Seung-kwon, director of Inno Social Lab, will give lectures on 'Overview of the G7 and Global Major Policy Trends' and 'Latest ESG Trends,' respectively. Additionally, through a real-time broadcast with the host country, the UK, the ESG management case of Versarian, an advanced materials engineering company, will be introduced.
Furthermore, KOTRA London Trade Center will hold an 'Online Employment Counseling Session' linked to the G7 Youth Forum to provide employment opportunities in the UK for Korean youths. Through ongoing counseling sessions before and after the forum, five Korean and UK companies based in the UK in the fields of Information Technology (IT), finance, construction, consumer goods, and food service will offer job opportunities to Korean youths.
