[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The Korea Meteorological Administration and the Climate Change Action Institute announced on the 9th that they will jointly hold the 'Climate Crisis Promotion Idea and Performance Contest.'
The theme of this contest is 'Climate Crisis! Communicating and Empathizing with Numbers.' Participants are required to create ideas or performances for promotion using numbers and submit a proposal. For example, using numbers that highlight the climate crisis such as reaching 1.5℃ by 2030 or achieving carbon neutrality (0) by 200 years is encouraged.
The contest is open to all citizens, and application forms can be downloaded from the Korea Meteorological Administration website or the Climate Change Action Institute website and submitted via email by July 4th. Winners will be announced on July 13th and notified on the websites.
After expert evaluation, awards will be given for △Grand Prize △Excellence Award △Merit Award, etc. The total prize money is 6.2 million KRW, with △1.2 million KRW for the Idea category (5 individuals or 5 teams) and △5 million KRW for the Performance category (4 teams).
Winners in the performance category will also have the opportunity to perform live at a street cultural event commemorating the publication of the 'Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Working Group I Report on Climate Change.'
