Suncheon-si, Recruiting Trainees for Digital Adult Literacy Education Instructor Training Course
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Heo Seok) announced on the 8th that it will publicly recruit 70 trainees to participate in a non-face-to-face digital adult literacy education specialist training course to help learners who do not know Hangul from the 15th to the 17th.
Adult literacy education is an educational program aimed at improving basic skills such as literacy necessary for social life for illiterate and low-educated adults in accordance with Article 39 of the Lifelong Education Act. The city was selected for Jeollanam-do’s “This Year’s City and County Lifelong Education Activation Support Project” and plans to train instructors who can strengthen digital education capabilities and develop digital literacy education methods.
Any citizen holding relevant qualifications such as adult literacy education, Korean language, or teaching certificates can apply for this training. The education will be conducted online via Zoom in a non-face-to-face format, divided into basic and advanced courses, with a total of 14 sessions held every Tuesday and Thursday from the 22nd to August 5th.
Applications can be submitted by downloading the application form from the city hall or the city’s Culture and Health Center website and sending it by email along with a self-introduction letter by the 17th.

A city official said, “Through this training, we expect to overcome difficulties in conducting online classes due to low digital literacy levels and create an educational environment suited to the times, thereby establishing a continuous learning system for illiterate learners.”
