Daegu City Provides Emergency Support of 5 Million KRW per Travel Business... Applications Accepted Starting Today
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-ho] Daegu City announced on the 8th that it will provide emergency funds of 5 million KRW per company to 650 local travel agencies affected by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic through the '2021 2nd Daegu-type Economic Quarantine Measures and Special Emergency Fund Support for the Travel Industry.'
Daegu City, which held joint meetings with the Daegu Tourism Association and the Regional Travel Agencies Emergency Countermeasures Council on the 4th and 13th of last month to overcome the crisis in the travel industry, decided to provide 5 million KRW corresponding to the 'businesses subject to closure' category under the 4th government disaster relief fund.
Considering the urgency of the local travel industry, the Daegu Metropolitan Tourism Association will accept applications from the 8th to the 25th, and Daegu City plans to verify and disburse the funds sequentially starting from the 16th.
The support targets are travel agencies located in Daegu City and registered in the local districts/counties as of the announcement date on the 7th; temporarily closed or closed businesses are excluded. However, temporarily closed businesses can receive support after reporting business resumption during the announcement period.
Daegu City is continuing to promote public quarantine job projects at tourist sites to support the recovery and livelihood of tourism industry workers (representatives and employees) as well as travel agencies. They are also reviewing shared office support plans to alleviate the burden of rental fees, which constitute the largest portion of fixed costs for travel agencies.
