After a meeting of about 20 minutes with Commissioner Kim, Prosecutor General Kim told reporters, "I came to greet on my inauguration," and added, "We agreed on the importance of strengthening communication and cooperation between the two organizations."
Prosecutor General Kim emphasized, "The criminal justice system has undergone a major transformation for the first time in 70 years," and said, "Organic cooperation is necessary to minimize inconvenience to the public." He added, "If necessary, the working-level staff will also meet in the future, but the top leadership will also communicate."
Regarding questions about prosecution-police cooperation so far, Prosecutor General Kim said, "There have been well-functioning parts, but also parts that were insufficient from the public's perspective," and conveyed, "Commissioner Kim mentioned that cooperation has been going well to a considerable extent since the investigative authority reform."
