Haman-type Emergency Disaster Relief Fund Shows Significant Effect on Revitalizing Local Economy
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Ham-an County, Gyeongnam announced on the 7th that the Ham-an-type emergency disaster relief fund contributed to the increase in sales of small business owners.
The county provided the Ham-an-type emergency disaster relief fund from March 17 to April 16, giving 100,000 won per resident in the form of Ham-an Sarang gift certificates, a local currency. It was encouraged to be used by May 31 to revitalize the local economy.
The total amount of Ham-an Sarang gift certificates issued by the county through the Ham-an-type emergency disaster relief fund was 6.2 billion won.
According to Nonghyup, the issuer, about 6 billion won worth of gift certificates were redeemed by the end of May, resulting in a usage rate of 97%.
Looking at the usage status of Ham-an Sarang gift certificates by industry, Nonghyup marts and general stores accounted for the highest usage rate at 53%.
They were mainly used for purchasing food, beverages, and daily necessities. Next, the restaurant industry usage rate was 15.3%.
Other industries included retail at 14.9%, gas stations and convenience stores at 11.7%, clothing stores at 2.1%, coffee shops and bakeries at 1.1%, and beauty salons at 0.5%.
