[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] On the 4th, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Yoo Eun-hye, along with Choi Gyo-jin, Chairman of the National Council of Superintendents of Education, and 13 other provincial superintendents, will receive COVID-19 vaccinations across the country.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Yoo Eun-hye and Chairman Choi Gyo-jin will receive the AstraZeneca (AZ) vaccine at the Sejong City Health Center. According to the guidelines of the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency, superintendents from Gwangju, Gyeonggi, Jeonbuk, Jeju, and other provinces have already completed their vaccinations in advance.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Yoo Eun-hye stated, “I hope that the vaccinations of myself and the provincial superintendents will lead to the expansion of vaccinations within the education sector, allowing a swift return to normal daily life, including full in-person classes in the second semester.” She added, “The government will strive to complete vaccinations for school staff and 12th-grade students by August to ensure safe schools. I would like to express my deep gratitude to all those involved in vaccination efforts.”
