Seongap Kim, Mayor of Gwangjin District, Joins Plastic-Free 'GoGo Challenge' Season 2
On the 1st, Joining Challenge Season 2 to Spread the 'Everyday Plastic-Free Movement'... Delivering a Message of Practice and Nominating the Next Participant
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Kim Seon-gap, Mayor of Gwangjin District, joined the 'Go Plastic-Free! Challenge' Season 2 on the 1st to practice reducing single-use items and plastics in daily life.
This Challenge Season 2 is a follow-up event to the challenge conducted by the Ministry of Environment earlier this year. It is a relay campaign that proposes 'one thing you can do' and 'one thing you should not do' to reduce plastic, and nominates the next participant.
Mayor Kim participated in the Go Go Challenge last March and joined Season 2 again upon nomination by National Assembly member Jeon Hye-sook.
On this day, Mayor Kim certified his participation with the practical message, "Refuse disposable cups! Make using reusable shopping bags a habit!"
He then nominated Lee Geum-hoon, head of the local environmental group Gwangjin Eco Leader Volunteer Group, and Yang Eun-seon, resource circulation leader of the Resource Circulation Solidarity, as the next challengers.
Mayor Kim Seon-gap said, "Though it may be inconvenient, small practices combined can become a great force to save the Earth," and added, "Especially on June 5th, Environment Day, I hope more residents will participate for sustainable environmental conservation."
