Gwangyang City to Construct Parking Tower in Jungdong Administrative Town
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Gwangyang City, Jeollanam-do announced on the 2nd that it has completed all administrative procedures for the construction of a parking-only building with 4 floors and 5 sections, providing 120 parking spaces, on idle city-owned land next to Jungma Resident Autonomy Center (Jungdong 1314-3), and will begin construction in June aiming for completion by the end of this year.
The Jungdong Administrative Town parking tower will be funded with 2 billion KRW from the national government and 2 billion KRW from the city government. It is designed for convenient movement using an elevator inside the building and a pedestrian bridge connecting to the city hall on the 3rd floor above ground.

Park Yang-gyun, head of the Transportation Department, said, “It is expected to contribute to resolving parking difficulties by securing sufficient parking spaces in the government office-dense area where explosive parking demand occurs during daytime working hours, including city hall, post office, fire station, and court.”
