The 2nd Plenary Session of the Gyeongnam Provincial Council Regular Meeting Continues with Questions on Provincial Administration
Assembly Members Lee Oksun, Yeo Sangwon, Kim Kyungyoung, and Park Oksun Conduct Provincial Government Inquiries
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] On the 2nd, the Gyeongsangnam-do Provincial Council held the 2nd plenary session of the 386th regular meeting, presided over by First Vice Chairman Jang Gyuseok, and continued from the previous day, four council members including Lee Oksun conducted provincial government inquiries targeting the provincial office and the education office.
Councilor Lee Oksun requested responses from the executive branch regarding fishermen's damage and restoration measures caused by 'binsansosugoe', details of projects led by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries under the government's 'Green New Deal', the overall scale of the Hyundong district development project and ongoing projects and improvement plans for the Hyundong district, and solutions related to the Machang Bridge toll fees.
Councilor Yesangwon questioned the governor about matters related to the cost burden of the Gadeokdo event in Gyeongnam, Busan, and Ulsan, the status of policy meetings held between the governor and mayors and county heads since July 2018 and future communication plans with cities and counties, the companies scheduled to relocate for the Miryang win-win job project and various support statuses, and measures to prepare for successful local job projects.
Councilor Kim Kyungyoung asked about Gyeongnam Province's opinion on fundamental corrections regarding the non-fulfillment of agreements during the construction period of Machang Bridge and changes in the project method, alternatives to parking problems caused by urban overcrowding, the province's response strategy to the second phase of public institution relocation to local areas, the stance on attracting the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art to Changwon, ensuring safe school routes in child protection zones, and the education office's support and cooperation system plans for preventing child and youth sex crimes, demanding countermeasures.
Lastly, Councilor Park Oksun submitted written inquiries and responses regarding the use of the Korean language in public institutions, support measures for small business owners such as revitalization plans for traditional markets based on Zero Pay, and Gyeongnam Province's plan to attract the 'Lee Kun-hee Art Museum'.
