Joo Ho-young: "Fairness Only for Winners? This Is Not a Gladiator Society" Direct Hit at Lee Jun-seok

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Choyoung] Joo Ho-young, a candidate running for the People Power Party leadership election, directly criticized candidate Lee Jun-seok on the 1st, saying, "Meritocracy and fair competition only for the winner are not the purpose of politics."

On the same day, Joo wrote on his Facebook, "The most fair rule in the world might be the 'gladiator's rule' where the winner lives and the loser dies, but the society we pursue is not a gladiator society."

Joo argued, "A gladiator society operates on the principles of survival of the fittest, winner-takes-all, and popularity-seeking," adding, "However, a conservative party must uphold the principles of co-survival, revival of the loser, and value alignment."

He continued, "What is needed for regime change next year: self-strengthening or integration? The conclusion is both," and stated, "Insight and wisdom derived from experience will be the driving force."

Joo emphasized, "If it is like 'waving hands after the bus has left,' it will only create more obstacles to candidate unification," and added, "It should not become a 'battle royale' style where only one candidate from the opposition survives and the rest die."

This appears to be a criticism of Lee's remark during a TV debate the previous day, where Lee said, "The bus arrives at the designated stop at the designated time," and "If a political party is to hold a responsible primary, the bus must never wait for a specific person, nor should it run on a route desired by a specific person."
