Mayor Oh Se-hoon Awards Seoul City Honorary Citizenship Certificate to Umar Hadi, Indonesian Ambassador to Korea
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] On the 2nd, Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon will award the Seoul City Honorary Citizenship Certificate to Umar Hadi, the Ambassador of Indonesia to Korea, who is set to leave his post this month, at the Seoul City Hall video conference room.
Since his appointment in 2017, Ambassador Umar Hadi has actively worked to enhance Seoul citizens' awareness and understanding of multiculturalism, supported the joint COVID-19 response between Seoul and Jakarta Province, and promoted exchanges between Seoul and major Indonesian cities.
He also took the lead in cultural exchanges between the two countries by hosting the 'Indonesia Day' event in 2019 and establishing an Indonesian section at the Multicultural Museum located in Eunpyeong-gu.

Ambassador Umar Hadi is also active as a film director. Seoul City plans to produce a film about Koreans who contributed to Indonesian independence, and it is expected that this will play an important role in connecting the two countries and promoting Seoul locally.
