Gwangjin-gu Achieves 'Top Excellence' for Three Consecutive Years in National Basic Local Government Heads' Pledge Evaluation
High Evaluation for Trustworthy Administration Implementation Including Pledge Completion, Goal Achievement, Resident Communication, and Operation of Pledge Implementation Evaluation Team
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Seon-gap) has achieved the highest rating (SA) for three consecutive years in the ‘2021 National Basic Local Government Heads Pledge Fulfillment and Information Disclosure Evaluation’ conducted by the Korea Manifesto Practice Headquarters.
The Korea Manifesto Practice Headquarters evaluated all basic local government heads nationwide in five areas: ▲pledge fulfillment completion ▲achievement of 2020 pledge goals ▲resident communication ▲web communication ▲pledge consistency, classifying basic local governments into five grades: SA, A, B, C, and D.
As a result, Gwangjin-gu achieved the highest comprehensive evaluation grade, SA, for three consecutive years during the 7th elected term.
The district has been diligently fulfilling its pledges according to the annual implementation plans for 68 pledges across eight major areas, receiving high praise especially for its efforts toward objective evaluation of pledge fulfillment and realization of trustworthy administration.
To this end, the district formed the ‘7th Elected Term Pledge Fulfillment Evaluation Group’ composed of experts and residents, conducting regular pledge project progress reporting meetings to self-inspect progress.
Also, when adjustments to pledges are necessary due to changes in administrative conditions, the district actively communicates and coordinates with the 7th Elected Term Pledge Fulfillment Evaluation Group, transparently disclosing all pledge details including fulfillment status on its website.
Alongside this, to realize the representative pledge of the 7th elected term to enhance regional value, the district completed the groundbreaking report last December for the ‘KT Site Advanced Business Complex’ and is pushing forward with a goal of completion in 2024.
Additionally, the district is preparing for the completion of the second phase of the Junggok-dong Comprehensive Medical Complex, the Medical Administration Town, scheduled for July.
Furthermore, major projects such as the establishment of the Gwangjin Welfare Foundation, construction of the Jayang Yusuji Cultural Complex Facility, creation of the Jungnangcheon Water Playground, and installation of fine dust signal lights have been completed. Projects closely related to residents’ lives, including support for the 50+ generation, expansion of national and public daycare centers, increased support for families with disabilities, establishment of crime prevention and security environments, pet welfare and cultural projects, discovery of private sector jobs, and expansion of public jobs, are continuously pursued with additional goals set after pledge completion.
