Muan County Council Opens the 272nd 1st Regular Session
Administrative Audit, Approval of 2020 Fiscal Year Revenue and Expenditure Settlement, and Ordinance Processing
Adoption of the ‘30th Anniversary of Muan-gun Council Opening and Resolution to Pledge Success in Local Autonomy’
[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] The Jeonnam Muan County Council (Chairman Kim Dae-hyun) opened the 272nd 1st regular session on the 1st and began a 25-day session schedule until the 25th.
According to the County Council, during this regular session, the 2021 administrative affairs audit and the second half county government report will be conducted, and a total of 26 agenda items including the approval of the 2020 fiscal year revenue and expenditure settlement, ordinances, and other agenda items will be reviewed.
At the 1st plenary session held on the day, agenda items such as the decision on the regular session period, attendance of the county governor and related officials, and the formation of the Budget and Settlement Special Committee were approved.
Subsequently, the County Council unanimously adopted the “Resolution to Commemorate the 30th Anniversary of the Opening of Muan County Council and to Pledge Success in Local Autonomy Decentralization,” jointly proposed by all council members.
Park Mak-dong, the vice chairman who read the resolution on behalf of the council, stated, “Despite the imperfect institutional foundation so far, the Muan County Council has led the development of local autonomy as the representative body of Muan residents and as a watchdog of local administration,” and added, “In the era of Local Autonomy Decentralization 2.0, we will realize sustainable local autonomy decentralization through creative innovation.”
The main schedule of this session includes a nine-day administrative affairs audit from the 2nd, and from the 12th to the 14th, the relevant standing committees will review ordinances and other agenda items.
Then, from the 15th to the 18th, the Budget and Settlement Special Committee will conduct activities to review the 2020 fiscal year settlement, and from the 21st for four days, the second half county government report will be held to check the progress of major county projects.
On the last day of the session, the 25th, the agenda items reviewed by the relevant standing committees and special committees will be finally approved, concluding this regular session.

Chairman Kim Dae-hyun said in his opening remarks, “I thank the residents who have actively cooperated with COVID-19 quarantine measures and vaccination,” and added, “The council will continue to work closely with the executive branch and focus all its capabilities on preparing measures to stabilize people’s livelihoods.”
