Hyundai Motor Company Delivers 'iCare Car' to Prevent and Eradicate Child Abuse
[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] Hyundai Motor Group announced on the 1st that it will continue its 7-year partnership with the Child Rights Protection Agency and the Community Chest of Korea to prevent and eradicate child abuse.
On the same day, Hyundai Motor Group held the ‘2021 iCAREcar Delivery Ceremony’ for the prevention and eradication of child abuse at the Baekbeom Kim Koo Memorial Hall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, attended by Byunghoon Lee, Executive Director of Hyundai Motor Group, Hyemi Yoon, Director of the Child Rights Protection Agency, and Kyunghee Kim, Head of the Community Chest of Korea.
The delivery ceremony is part of the ‘iCARE Project’ that Hyundai Motor Group has been conducting since 2014 in collaboration with the Child Rights Protection Agency and the Community Chest of Korea.
The project provides ‘iCAREcar’ vehicles, which are child abuse field response vehicles, to child protection agencies nationwide to support field operations such as on-site investigations of child abuse, home visit counseling, and safe transportation of affected children, thereby contributing to improved mobility and safety for children.
This year, Hyundai Motor Group supported a total of 18 vehicles through the delivery ceremony, including 3 Kona Hybrid, 6 Avante, and 9 Ray models.
Since the project began, Hyundai Motor Group has supported a total of 136 vehicles to 66 child protection agencies nationwide over 7 years, with the total support amount reaching approximately 3 billion KRW.
Meanwhile, since 2019, Hyundai Motor Group has also been conducting the national ‘iCARE Campaign’ to raise social awareness about child abuse.
The campaign, conducted alongside the ‘iCARE Project,’ produces content focused on the prevention and eradication of child abuse and shares it on online channels of Hyundai Motor Group, the Child Rights Protection Agency, and the National Police Agency.
In particular, the YouTube campaign video produced in 2020 has recorded a cumulative 1.27 million views, significantly contributing to improving social awareness of child abuse, the company emphasized.
