KT, Gyeonggi-do Collaborate to Foster Future Technology Talent
[Asia Economy Reporter Seulgina Jo] KT is joining forces with Gyeonggi Province to nurture future technology talent that companies need in the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution.
On the 1st, KT announced that it signed a "Business Agreement (MOU) for the Promotion of Gyeonggi-do Future Technology School for Corporate Participation-type Future Technology Education and Training" at the Gyeonggi Provincial Government Office in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, together with Gyeonggi Province, two public institutions, and eight ICT companies.
The Gyeonggi-do Future Technology School is a project that provides various education and training in the fields of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big Data, and Cloud, collectively called ABC, in line with recent trends. It aims to cultivate future technology professionals who can be immediately deployed in ICT companies and industrial sites, and participation is open regardless of academic background. It is promoted through three projects: ‘Northern Gyeonggi Vocational Competency Development Center,’ ‘Gyeonggi Future Technology Campus,’ and ‘Data Industry Workforce Training.’
Among the three projects, KT participates in the ‘Northern Gyeonggi Vocational Competency Development Center’ managed by the Gyeonggi Job Foundation. KT leads the training of customized developers based on its cloud AI platform (AIDU).
KT supports curriculum design based on the capabilities and experience secured through internal and external education in the ICT field and conducts special lectures by in-house AIDU expert instructors. Additionally, KT plans to provide opportunities to visit actual industrial sites such as KT data centers (IDC, CDC) and partner companies’ R&D facilities. Furthermore, KT supports its practice-based ‘AI Certification Qualification Evaluation.’
KT is striving to create a future technology win-win ecosystem centered on the representative industry-academia-research cooperation bodies in AI and cloud fields, ‘AI One Team’ and ‘Cloud One Team.’ It also offers full-time education programs for internal employees to cultivate practical AI professionals. Those who complete the education program have an internal certification system (AI Certification Qualification Evaluation) established for development capability assessment.
