Specialized Projects Including Child and Youth Happiness Platform Project and Safe Dongjak-gu Initiative Until February... Operation of Dongjak-gu Online Comprehensive Information Platform, Child and Youth District Participation Group, and Safety Planning Team
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dongjak-gu (Mayor Lee Chang-woo) is promoting the ‘2021 Child-Friendly City Specialized Project’ to create a healthy and happy city made by children and adolescents.
After being selected as the top among 24 autonomous districts that applied for the Seoul Child-Friendly City Specialized Project last month, the district will carry out two projects: the ‘Child and Adolescent Happiness Platform Project’ and ‘Safe Dongjak-gu Made by Children and Adolescents.’
This project was prepared to improve the rights of children and adolescents and create a healthy and happy urban environment by having children and adolescents directly participate in various online and offline leisure and experience programs.
First, until October, the ‘Child and Adolescent Happiness Platform Project’ will be conducted to lead the practical policy participation of children and adolescents and explore multifaceted development directions.
Targeting 700 children and adolescents under the age of 18 residing in the area, various projects that enhance youth sensitivity will be carried out using the youth comprehensive support center network, including ▲production of online information maps related to children and adolescents ▲providing experience activities suitable for each target level ▲supporting themed home kits.
Along with this, the ‘Dongjak-gu Youth Policy Festival’ will be operated to raise awareness of children and adolescents’ participation through ▲education and experience booths related to youth policy ▲voting on policy agendas discovered by youths ▲delivering hopeful messages from Dongjak-gu youths.
In addition, about 310 members, including the Dongjak-gu Children and Adolescents District Participation Group and Safety Planning Group, will be formed to investigate and monitor children and adolescents’ awareness of disasters and safety, and based on the results, a safety guidebook tailored to crisis situations from the perspective of children and adolescents will be produced and distributed.
