Gather 'Parent Secret Inspectors' to Monitor Daycare Centers... Geoje City Recruiting Until the 4th of Next Month
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Geoje City, Gyeongnam Province, is operating a ‘Daycare Center Parent Monitoring Team’ to create a childcare environment that parents can trust.
The monitoring team consists of 10 members, including parents and experts in childcare and health fields. They will directly monitor the operation status of daycare centers such as meals, hygiene, health, and safety management to improve the quality of the childcare environment and to raise understanding and interest in daycare centers.
Currently, all daycare centers in the city are closed due to concerns about the spread of COVID-19 in the region and to prevent infections among infants and toddlers. Only emergency childcare is being provided for families experiencing childcare gaps, such as dual-income couples.
The parent monitoring team activities are scheduled to take place from the lifting of the closure until December.
Members will be divided into pairs and visit 92 out of 219 daycare centers in the region to conduct monitoring and consulting simultaneously. This role is similar to that of a secret inspector (‘Amhaeng-eosa’) overseeing daycare centers, but it will be conducted openly.
The city plans to share the monitoring results with the daycare center operation committees and all parents to strengthen the management of daycare centers and lead voluntary improvements.
Recruitment started on the 27th and will continue until June 4th. For detailed information about recruitment and operation, please contact the Childcare Management Team of the Childcare Division at City Hall.
