[Asia Economy Reporter Kangwook Cho] The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on the 31st that it is recruiting companies to participate in the ‘2021 Youth Digital Job Project’ in the green remodeling sector, in collaboration with the Korea Land and Housing Safety Corporation.
The ‘Youth Digital Job Project’ is a program that supports wages for companies hiring youth aged 15 to 34 in IT-related positions. Through policy cooperation with the Ministry of Employment and Labor, the Ministry of Land aims to foster future talent and create jobs for young people in the green remodeling sector, which is a key task related to the 2030 greenhouse gas reduction and 2050 carbon neutrality goals.
Companies eligible to participate must be engaged in green remodeling-related business or work and employ at least one person insured under employment insurance. Wage and indirect labor costs can be supported for up to six months from the hiring date for youth hired within three months from the approval date.
Companies wishing to participate can apply on the project website (www.work.go.kr/youthjob) by selecting the operating agency ‘Korea Land and Housing Safety Corporation’ and applying on a first-come, first-served basis. The application period is from June 1 to December 31.
