Namyangju City Selects 100 'Namyangju Safe Restaurants'
[Asia Economy Reporter La Young-cheol] Namyangju City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 31st that it has identified 100 restaurants safe from 'COVID-19' and designated them as 'Namyangju Safe Restaurants.'
According to the city, a 'Safe Restaurant' is a certification system established to increase awareness of quarantine and hygiene amid the severe avoidance of dining out due to the spread of COVID-19, and to establish a safe food culture so that citizens can use restaurants with peace of mind.
The designation criteria for Safe Restaurants include five items: ▲employees wearing masks, ▲provision of hand sanitizer and regular disinfection and ventilation, ▲active practice of serving food individually (providing ladles for serving soup, individual plates, etc.), ▲hygienic management of utensils (individual packaging, pre-provision of personal utensils, etc.), and ▲not reusing leftover food.
Businesses wishing to be designated as Safe Restaurants submit an application form, and after on-site inspection and evaluation procedures, those meeting the qualification criteria are designated as Safe Restaurants.
