Hyundai Department Store, Hyundai Home Shopping, Handsome, Hyundai Livart, and 13 Other Affiliates Implement Paid Leave for Employees
Two Days of Paid Leave Regardless of Adverse Symptoms
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Yuri] Hyundai Department Store Group is granting paid leave to employees who have received the COVID-19 vaccine.
On the 31st, Hyundai Department Store Group announced that it will implement 'paid leave for COVID-19 vaccination' for employees of 13 affiliates, including Hyundai Department Store, Hyundai Home Shopping, Handsome, Hyundai Livart, and Hyundai Department Store Duty Free. Hyundai Department Store will start this from June 1, while some affiliates such as Handsome have been implementing it sequentially since the 18th.
With the introduction of this paid leave, employees who receive the vaccine will be granted two days of paid leave on the day of vaccination and the following day, regardless of any adverse symptoms. If two doses are required, four days of paid leave will be provided.
Hyundai Department Store Group also plans to actively encourage employees to take sufficient rest by using additional paid leave or personal annual leave according to their individual health conditions after the paid leave period.

A Hyundai Department Store Group official said, "We decided to introduce paid leave to ensure sufficient rest for employees who have been vaccinated," adding, "We will not only provide a safe working environment for employees but also contribute to overcoming COVID-19 by increasing the vaccination rate."
