LH to Hire 305 Coordinators for Rental Complex Libraries
Overcoming Employment Crisis, Providing Jobs for Vulnerable Groups by Hiring Rental Housing Residents
Applications Accepted Until June 2, Results Announced on 29th, Work for 8 Months Starting July
Current and Former LH Employees, Spouses, and Direct Relatives Excluded from Recruitment
[Asia Economy Reporter Kangwook Cho] LH announced on the 30th that it will hire 305 coordinators for ‘small libraries’ in LH rental complexes to create jobs for rental housing residents.
‘Small libraries’ are libraries installed within LH rental housing complexes, and LH operates 626 small libraries nationwide. LH has expanded the activation project target complexes from 25 in 2019 to 40 last year, and 305 this year.
The ‘small library’ coordinators will be responsible for creating the basic environment for operating libraries within LH rental complexes, providing capacity-building education for residents’ autonomous operation, and running related programs.
The hiring targets are residents of rental complexes who can use PCs and meet certain qualifications such as being a librarian (assistant librarian, level 2 certified librarian), residential welfare worker, reading instructor, or having completed village activist training. There is no separate age limit.
Residents are given hiring priority, but if there are vacancies, recruitment will be expanded to the general public who meet the same qualifications, with a total of 305 people to be hired. However, current and former LH executives and employees, their spouses, and direct lineal relatives are excluded. The hiring process includes document submission and review, interviews, and final selection.
Applicants must submit their applications by June 2. Applicants residing in the activation target complexes should submit their applications at their residential complex, while those not residing in activation target complexes should visit the desired target complex (first-choice preferred complex) to submit their applications. The list of activation target complexes can be found in the recruitment announcement.
Document screening will take place from July 10 to 11, interviews from July 18 to 23, and the final successful candidates will be announced on the 29th. The work period is eight months from July to March next year, working five days a week, six hours a day. The salary is about 1.3 million KRW per month, and the workplaces are the 305 ‘small libraries’ within LH rental housing complexes.
To ensure fair recruitment, the application process will be conducted in a blind manner, prohibiting the inclusion of information unrelated to job performance such as school names, birthplace, parents’ occupations, family relationships, and personal details, either directly or indirectly.
For more details, refer to the announcement posted on the LH website (www.lh.or.kr). Inquiries can also be made by phone through the LH small library coordinator recruitment agency call center (1644-8366) and the LH call center (1600-1004).
An LH official said, “We hope this recruitment will help create jobs for vulnerable groups in rental complexes who are struggling to find employment amid the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, and we will continue to make efforts to create various jobs for residents.”
