Special Inspection for Rainy Season Preparedness at Nationwide Construction Sites... Focused Inspection on 936 Locations
A Total of 1,429 Inspectors Deployed Across 10 Classes
Surprise Inspections Increased from 30% to 40%... Strengthening Safety Management
[Asia Economy Reporter Jo Gang-wook] The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on the 30th that it will conduct special inspections of construction sites during the summer heavy rainfall period starting June 1 to prevent safety accidents at construction sites.
During this inspection, a total of 936 construction sites nationwide will be closely examined for the status of soil erosion and collapse-prone sections during the rainy season, whether flood risk factors have been addressed, and the condition of temporary facilities installation.
The inspection targets were selected focusing on large-scale cut slopes, underground excavation and river embankment construction sites, construction sites using high-risk construction machinery where safety accidents have occurred, and small-scale construction sites.
The special inspection team consists of 1,429 members across 10 teams from affiliated organizations including the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Regional Land Management Offices, Korea Rail Network Authority, and Korea Land and Housing Corporation.
In particular, this year, the rate of surprise inspections will be expanded from 30% to 40%.
