'COVID-19 Positive' New Inmate at Seoul Detention Center Hospitalized
[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] A new inmate at Seoul Detention Center who tested positive for COVID-19 was released on suspension of detention execution and admitted to a hospital.
The Ministry of Justice announced on the 29th that the new inmate who tested positive was released on the 28th. The Ministry also conducted polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests on 62 staff members and inmates who had contact with the inmate, all of whom tested negative.
The inmate was legally detained at the Seoul Central District Court on the 27th and admitted to Seoul Detention Center, but tested positive for COVID-19 in a PCR test the following day.

Seoul Detention Center disinfected and sanitized the entire facility and notified related institutions such as the Seoul Central District Court and Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office about the confirmed case.
