According to the industry on the 29th, the necessity of establishing an IoT (Internet of Things)-based integrated water management system is emerging, and water resource surveys for this purpose are gaining focus.
In response, JH Sustain, an international development cooperation consulting company (CEO Park Jihyun, hereafter JH), stated that water resource surveys must precede the establishment of an integrated water management system, and that consensus-building and dissemination of its importance are necessary.
The "water industry" is a traditional industry with a history of over 200 years, but the term has been used domestically for less than 20 years. The water industry remained stagnant for nearly 15 years until the enactment of the "Water Industry Promotion Act" in 2018, which marked a turning point.
The water industry encompasses all economic activities related to water, from dam and reservoir water supply to water and sewage management, wastewater treatment, and water reuse and recycling. All stages of planning, design, construction, and operation of water-related facilities and materials/components fall within the water industry domain.
Recently, the water industry has gained attention amid the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the climate crisis era. Water management for carbon neutrality will be a major issue at the "2021 P4G Seoul Green Future Summit" held on the 30th and 31st. P4G (Partnering for Green Growth and Global Goal 2030) is an international consortium where governments, companies, and experts worldwide gather to discuss climate change responses and sustainable development.
JH announced that as a key private sector partner of P4G, it leads various global research and projects based on systematic water management business capabilities and the concretization of technology cooperation projects.
JH explained that strengthening climate change and disaster response capabilities through the P4G partnership has a long-term significance in solving issues directly related to human survival and the economy.
