[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daehyun] It has been confirmed that Gu Bonseong, Vice Chairman of Ourhome, is currently on trial for retaliatory driving that damaged a vehicle and injured the other driver. Ourhome is a food company founded by Gu Jahak, the third son of Gu Inhoe, the founding chairman of LG Group, and Vice Chairman Gu is Gu Jahak's eldest son.
According to the legal community on the 28th, Gu was indicted in March on charges including special property damage and special injury, and is currently on trial at the Seoul Central District Court.
He is accused of driving a BMW near Hakdong Intersection in Gangnam-gu around 12:35 p.m. on September 5 last year, and when a Mercedes vehicle cut in front of him, he overtook it again and suddenly stopped in front of the Mercedes. As a result, the two vehicles collided, damaging the front bumper of the Mercedes, and Gu was investigated to have fled the scene immediately.
Additionally, the Mercedes driver, Mr. A, chased after Gu, got out of the car and said, "I have reported to the police, so don't run away," but Gu moved his car forward, hitting Mr. A's abdomen and waist, and pushed him again, causing injuries to his waist and shoulder.
