[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Geochang County in Gyeongnam announced on the 28th that it will operate "Mind Rest, Space," a part of the integrated mental health project, for local residents at the Market Prosperity Association office within the Geochang Traditional Market.
Until now, the focus of mental health services has been on psychiatric treatment for patients with mental illnesses and high-risk groups. Now, the aim is to intervene at the appropriate time when mental health services are needed for all county residents to prevent disease progression and promote mental health.
The operation period is from the 31st to December 31st (every Monday and Wednesday from 2 PM to 5 PM), and the main activities include ▲stress and depression screening tests ▲individual counseling based on test results ▲healing zone experiences (fan making, AI meditation) ▲measurement of blood pressure, blood sugar, and blood lipids (linked to cardiovascular disease prevention and management projects) ▲registration of high-risk groups at the Mental Health Welfare Center and connection to programs ▲guidance for treatment at psychiatric medical institutions.
Additionally, starting in July, an unmanned mental health screening machine will be installed to lower the barrier to using mental health services, allowing anyone to easily and conveniently perform self-assessments of their mental health.
