Hwasun-gun Supports 'Pesticide Spraying Labor Helpers'
[Hwasun=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Ji-woon] Hwasun-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Gu Chung-gon) announced on the 27th that it will support a "Pesticide Application Labor Helper" for rice farming households having difficulty in agricultural activities, such as the elderly.
The county is promoting a pesticide application labor helper support project, spending 80 million KRW in project funds to perform pesticide application work on behalf of rice farmers experiencing difficulties in agricultural activities, timed to coincide with the main pest and disease occurrence periods in rice farming.
This year, the project is planned to be implemented on a total rice cultivation area of 400 hectares, supporting two rounds of pest and disease control work between July and September.
The target beneficiaries are general rice farming households including those aged 65 or older, persons with disabilities, and women engaged in agricultural activities alone. Applications can be submitted to the eup/myeon administrative welfare centers through village chiefs by mid-next month, and candidates will be selected through screening.
The cost of pesticides used for pest and disease control is borne by the beneficiary farming households.
