"Foreigners Also Get Affiliate Card Discounts" KT Signs Marketing Partnership Agreement with China Bank
[Asia Economy Reporter Joselgina] KT is partnering with China Bank to launch two exclusive co-branded cards for foreign customers. When KT telecom fees are automatically debited, customers can receive up to 10,000 KRW cashback per month to their account based on card usage performance.
KT announced on the 27th that it signed a marketing collaboration agreement with China Bank with these details. The focus is on expanding partnership benefits for Chinese nationals, who are the largest group of foreign residents in Korea.
First, the two companies will launch co-branded cards on June 1: the ‘JungHanTong’ check card exclusively for foreign customers and a ‘Student Exclusive’ check card. They plan to support foreign customers in easily opening mobile phone lines and issuing co-branded cards by linking China Bank branches in Seoul’s Jongno and Daerim areas, Ansan, Daegu, and nearby KT stores.
Additionally, they will introduce various services for the convenience of Chinese customers, such as a ‘one-stop’ process allowing students to apply for mobile phones and internet before entering Korea and receive them immediately upon arrival, as well as non-face-to-face co-branded card issuance.
KT is currently running a promotion offering overseas remittance discount coupons for foreign bundled customers. Foreign customers using KT’s wired and wireless bundled services can apply on the global website (https://kt.com/v1om) to receive two Hanpass remittance free coupons and 20,000 KRW in Centbee remittance cash. The newly launched China Bank co-branded cards also include overseas remittance fee discounts. KT plans to regularize the currently promotional benefits as membership benefits in June.
