Ministry of Gender Equality and Family Awards Meritorious Persons for Youth Growth and Protection Efforts

[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The Ministry of Gender Equality and Family will award commendations to individuals who have dedicated themselves to youth.
On the 27th, the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family selected 29 government awards and 70 ministerial citations from individuals and youth organizations recommended as meritorious for their efforts in creating a youth-friendly social environment at the opening ceremony of the 17th Korea Youth Expo held at the Daejeon Convention Center.
Kim Ki-tae, Honorary President of the Korea Youth Protection Federation, will receive the Order of Civil Merit, Dongbaek Medal, for his contributions over more than 30 years to youth guidance and protection projects, including monitoring harmful environments for youth, supporting the independence of at-risk youth, serving as a guidance commissioner at the Busan Juvenile Detention Center, counseling and special lectures for at-risk youth, providing scholarships and material support to vulnerable youth.
Seo Jae-beom, Director of the Gyeonggi-do Youth Activity Promotion Center, will receive the Order of Civil Merit, Magnolia Medal, for his contributions to revitalizing youth volunteer activities in the region since 1987, establishing a cooperative network among youth-related organizations in Gyeonggi-do, and promoting Korea-China international youth exchange activities.
Jung Myung-joo, Secretary General of Gimhae YMCA, who led efforts to improve the quality of life in public youth training facilities; Lee Kyung-sang, Senior Researcher at the Korea Youth Policy Institute, who contributed to building longitudinal data and policy development in the youth sector through policy research and surveys; and Kim Dong-seop, Director of the Gyeongsangbuk-do Youth Activity Promotion Center, who developed and disseminated youth leader capacity-building and activity programs, will receive the Order of Civil Merit, National Medal.
