According to the quarantine authorities, Seoul city, and other local governments, a total of 517 new confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported from midnight to 6 p.m. on that day. This is 58 fewer than the 575 cases recorded at the same time the previous day. The metropolitan area accounted for 368 cases (71.2%), and non-metropolitan areas accounted for 149 cases (28.8%).
By city and province, Seoul reported 198 cases, Gyeonggi 144, Incheon 26, Daejeon and Jeju 18 each, Busan and Daegu 17 each, Gyeongnam 15, Gwangju 11, Gyeongbuk 10, Chungnam 9, Jeonnam and Chungbuk 8 each, Gangwon 6, Ulsan 5, Sejong 4, and Jeonbuk 3.
The number of new confirmed cases to be announced as of midnight on the 27th is expected to increase further, reaching the mid-to-high 600s, and possibly around 700. The previous day closed with 707 cases.
