Jinju City "Creating an Urban Area with Flowers Blooming in All Four Seasons"
Recharging Energy Full of Vitality in Daily Life Exhausted by COVID-19
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Jinju City in Gyeongnam announced on the 26th that it planted summer flowers, grown directly at a flower nursery in Jiphyeon-myeon, in railing flower pots along major roads, flower walls, and large flower pots around the city.
The city created flower paths with railing flower pots harmonizing with the beautiful Namgang River over a total distance of 4.1 km at five locations including Dwibyeori, and newly renovated the flower walls at Sanpyeonggyo Bridge and Seokryu Park.
About 240 large flower pots installed in major city areas such as City Hall Plaza and Innovation City were filled with vibrant summer flowers to revitalize the daily lives exhausted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
This spring, starting with the planting of 200,000 spring flowers such as pansies, the city plans to plant a total of 500,000 flower seedlings including 150,000 summer flowers (petunias, coleus, begonias, etc.), 100,000 autumn flowers (impatiens, salvia, etc.), and 50,000 winter flowers (flowering cabbage).
Above all, the city plans to create distinctive street environments centered around areas with frequent visits by citizens and tourists, such as ICs and city centers, to produce a pleasant and vibrant urban image.
