Volvo Construction Equipment Chairman Janberry Participates as Speaker in P4G Green Technology Session
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] Volvo Group Korea, a construction machinery manufacturer, announced on the 26th that Melker Jernberg, Chairman of Volvo Construction Equipment, will participate as a keynote speaker at the '2021 P4G Seoul Green Future Summit Green Technology Session' held online at 8 p.m. on the 28th.
P4G stands for 'Partnering for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030,' a global coalition where government agencies, companies, and civil society participate as partners to respond to climate change and achieve sustainable development goals. The Green Technology Session will be held during the designated 'Green Future Week' ahead of the 2021 P4G Seoul Summit, which takes place on the 30th and 31st.
Chairman Jernberg will deliver the keynote speech on the theme of 'Leading a Emission-Free Society through Innovation and Circularity.' At this event, he will pledge to achieve Volvo Construction Equipment's goal of '100% carbon emission-free' by 2040 and introduce how to accelerate the entire value chain to lead changes in the construction industry, including sustainable transportation and infrastructure solutions.
Chairman Jernberg will also participate in a panel discussion with an expert group to discuss the directions and roles of companies, science and technology, and the international community in advancing carbon neutrality to create a better future.

Yang Sung-mo, CEO of Volvo Group Korea, said, "Volvo has already provided electrified equipment and low-noise, high-efficiency products to customers worldwide last year, and in Korea, we are contributing to carbon neutrality by deploying eco-friendly smart equipment in the Sejong Smart City this year." He added, "By reducing carbon emissions, we will continue to cooperate with the government and various sectors to contribute to carbon neutrality in Korea and globally."
