Gyeongnam Superintendent of Education Park Jong-hoon Receives Highest Grade (SA) in Manifesto Pledge Evaluation

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Sharon] Park Jong-hoon, Superintendent of Gyeongnam Office of Education, received the highest overall rating (SA) in the "2021 National Superintendent of Education Pledge Implementation and Information Disclosure Evaluation" announced on the 25th by the Korea Manifesto Practice Headquarters (hereinafter referred to as the 'Manifesto Headquarters').
The Manifesto Headquarters evaluated the democratic composition and procedures of the Gyeongnam Office of Education Pledge Evaluation Committee, the pledge website designed to meet residents' perspectives, and efforts to expand the introduction of electronic democracy as factors that enhanced the reliability, accessibility, and democracy of the pledges.
According to the Manifesto Headquarters, this evaluation was conducted objectively through a strict process including a first evaluation by the evaluation team and a final evaluation based on explanations and supplementary materials from city and provincial offices of education.
This year, the Gyeongnam, Gangwon, Daegu, Daejeon, Busan, and Chungbuk Offices of Education received the highest rating (SA).
Superintendent Park Jong-hoon proposed a total of 47 pledges in the last election and achieved a promotion rate of 104.7% against the overall goals as of the end of December 2020.
In addition, in securing finances for pledge implementation, 1.5055 trillion won was secured out of the initially planned 2.7094 trillion won, recording a securing rate of 55.6%.
The Gyeongnam Office of Education is leading the future of education in Korea by promoting and approving the establishment of the Future Education Theme Park and the Gyeongnam Career Education Center.
Furthermore, it has actively invested budgets to realize just education through full free school meals up to high school and has been expanding efforts to strengthen future competencies.

Superintendent Park Jong-hoon said, “This evaluation is the result of our best efforts to fulfill the pledge projects promised to the residents,” and added, “We will continue to be a trusted Gyeongnam education through pledge implementation that communicates with residents and will play an important role in leading the future education of Korea.”
